Our private voice teachers primarily focus on popular music and musical theatre songs. If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, theatre, or R&B singer, then we have the perfect voice lessons and teachers for you!
Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more.
All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favorite recording artists, preparing for a theater audition, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT WILL I LEARN IN VOICE LESSONS?
Our voice teachers understand that every student is an individual, with personal musical needs and goals. We make it a priority to tailor how we teach and what we teach to your individual needs.
If you enroll here for voice lessons, your teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. Together, you will develop a plan to achieve your goals! We love beginners, so even if you don’t know where to begin, we can help!
WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC CAN I LEARN?
Our voice lessons can span a variety of styles and ranges. At Musicology, we’re all about getting you set up with the personalized instruction that can help build and fortify your passion for music. If you want to take voice lessons that focus on R&B, gospel, jazz, rock, musical theater, or in another style, we can help make this happen. The sky is practically the limit at our music studio!
ARE YOUR VOICE INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED?
Our vocal instructors are highly qualified to provide the best in voice lessons. Many of our instructors have a professional musical background, have studied music for decades, and are incredible teachers. We don’t simply find instructors with a strong musical background—this is a huge part of the experience that we look for, but we also look to instructors who have taught before (and loved teaching, too!) We are positive that you or your child will love working with a vocal teacher in voice lessons.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN TO SING?
Considering that even professional singers continue to take voice lessons and practice their craft, learning any instrument (including using your voice) is a life-long lesson and endeavor. That being said, many people can gather the basics of singing after a few months of voice lessons and practice. However, we would argue that to become truly great at something, you need to practice consistently over time—while having the self-motivation and passion to support your interests.
I DON’T HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND OR ABILITY. CAN I STILL HELP MY CHILD PRACTICE?
Part of the best thing about being a parent is just being there. Witnessing your child practice, sitting in on an occasional lesson, encouraging them to practice—these are all excellent ways to help your child improve. Talk with our studio and our music instructors if you’re interested in sitting in on a voice lesson; we’d be more than happy to accommodate you and your child!
If you’re an adult wanting to learn more about singing, our music studio takes students of all ages! Find out more by contacting our studio, or sign up for voice lessons today!
